TF1 faces channel acquisition setback

French commercial broadcaster TF1 has received another regulatory setback regarding its acquisition of an additional 40% stake in digital terrestrial channels TMC and NT1.

The country’s Competition Authority has postponed its decision regarding the deal. It was originally due to be received on December 28 but will not make a decision until January 26, 2010. The authority has postponed the decision to give it more time to deal with the negative reaction from rival broadcasters and local producers
