UK pay-TV provider BSkyB is using equipment from Grass Valley to build the new production control room for the launch of Sky News in HD next year.
BSkyB is to use Grass Valleys Kayenne video production centre and two Grass Valley Summit production client servers. The news channel is building a new production studio that will be fitted out with 12 new Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam multiformat HD cameras.
BSkyB will use the Grass Valley HD production equipment for Sky News’ coverage of the UKÂs upcoming General elections,when it will become the first mainstream news channel in the country to broadcast in HD.
