Almost half of Poles 48% Â are unaware of the countryÂs plans for digital switchover in 2013, according to a survey carried out for pay-TV provider Cyfra Plus.
Lack of awareness was particularly marked amongst women (with only 40% being aware of the change), those without higher education (of whom 40% were aware of switchover) and rural residents (of whom 46% knew about the change). About 60% of all Poles have not made any preparations for switchover. About 26% have already acquired digital reception equipment.
The benefits of digital most attractive to Poles were high-quality images and Dolby Digital Surround Sound (named buy 37% of respondents), the ability to watch programmes outside of regular linear schedules (28%) and the ability to pause and rewind live programmes (25%).
