Ukrainian cable operator Volia will launch an IPTV service next year.
According to Sergey Boyko, president and CEO, Volia wants to enable customers to use its digital TV service on computers. Today, young people increasingly prefer to watch TV programmes not on traditional television, but on the computer monitor. We feel obliged to [enable] customers to access TV programmes in a convenient format.Â
Volia plans to launch the service in the second half of the year and said it does not expect it to deliver any profits initially.
