Sky Deutschland in move to boost HD take-up

Pay-TV provider Sky Deutschland has launched a new initiative to boost HD take-up. Sky is offering HD DVR boxes for €199, and is including all HD channels in a single package with Sky World and Sky World Extra (its satellite-only pack) until the end of July next year.

Sky currently offers seven HD channels, including live sports (which will include World Cup coverage next June). These will be bundled with Sky World’s 21 channels and the further 18 channels available in Sky World Extra.
