The sale of US media firm NBC Universal to cable giant Comcast could move closer as the window for French media conglomerate Vivendi to sell its 20% stake opens.
Vivendi has between November 15 and December 10 to decide whether it would like to sell its stake in the company, which operates the US network NBC, a raft of international pay-TV channels and movie studio.
US conglomerate GE has been in talks with cable firm Comcast to sell its 80% stake in NBC Universal. The two companies last week agreed to value the firm at US$30bn (20bn).
