Broadcast services provider GlobeCast has expanded its global fibre network into Russia and signed TV channel Strana as its first customer.
GlobeCast has opened a new point-of-presence in Moscow, which Strana will use to deliver the channel from Moscow to Paris for uplink to satellite operator Eutelsats HotBird neighbourhood. As well as fibre and satellite capacity, the services provider is supplying Strana with a permanent monitoring service across the entire network from its master control room in Paris.
GlobeCast said the latest addition to its network will help connect Russia with points-of-presence in Asia, America, Africa and Europe.
