Eutelsat’s W7 set for November launch

Eutelsat has announced its latest satellite, W7, is in the final stages of preparation for launch on November 23.

W7 has arrived at the Baikonour Cosmodrome and is set for launch by International Launch Services on board a Proton Breeze M booster at 14.22 GMT. It will be co-located with W4 at 36° East to more than double resources at that orbital position.

Through a configuration of up to 70 transponders connected to five fixed and steerable beams, W7 will provide coverage of Russia and sub-Saharan Africa for digital broadcasting services, including pay-TV.
