Prisa ends Mediaset merger talks

Spanish media company Prisa has ended merger talks with Italian media group Mediaset after the two companies could not agree a deal.

Mediaset was keen to acquire Prisa’s satellite pay-TV operation Digital Plus but the two parties couldn’t agree terms. French conglomerate Vivendi is reportedly still keen to acquire the pay-TV service and has formed a consortium with Spanish telco Telefonica to acquire a 40% stake of the service.
