Emirates Mobile Television Corporation awarded DVB-H licence

The Emirates Mobile Television Corporation consortium has been granted a 10-year mobile TV licence by the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

The consortium will provide at least 13 DVB-H channels to subscribers via various packages, with services expected to launch in the fourth quarter of next year.

The consortium, which is made up of Etisalat, du, Abu Dhabi Media Company, Dubai Media Incorporated, Emirates Communications and Technologies Company, and MBC, paid a licence acquisition fee of AED17m (€3m).
