Canal Plus Cyfrowy highlights troubled state of Polish football

Polish pay-TV provider Canal Plus Cyfrowy has announced that it will host a round table to discuss the current dire state of Polish football, in which the broadcaster has a strong interest as an investor and as the rights-holder to the matches of the country’s premier league.

Canal Plus said that the failure of the Polish national team to qualify for the World Cup and the lack of Polish clubs in European competitions this season gave real cause for concern. The broadcaster has called on key organisations including public bodies, supporters’ groups, sponsors and the media to meet in December to discuss the situation in an open forum and suggest possible solutions.
