French telecom regulator the ARCEP has launched a consultation on access to the local-loop and its impact on the development of very high-speed broadband services.
The ARCEP said the aim of the consultation, which runs from now until November 23, is to allow it to come up with a set of conditions for effective implementation of local-loop unbundling for very high-speed services.
Meanwhile, the French government has launched an appeal for the submission of proposals to invest 30m of European funds in projects to develop broadband services in rural areas. Submissions must be made by January 31, with the successful applicants to be notified by May.
