YouSee boosts public service element in basic package

Danish cable operator YouSee will launch new TV packages on November 1. The operator’s basic package will now include 11 public broadcast channels (out of a total of 16 channels), thanks to the addition of new services from DR.

The operator will offer new services DR K and DR Ramasjang (which will now be distributed in both digital and analogue) and dk4. The public channels will replace commercial services TV2 Norway and TV4 Sweden (with the latter remaining available as a digital-only service). The package will also include commercial channels TV3 and Kanal 4.
The basic package will also offer four analogue public service channels from neighbouring countries and six digital channels including DR HD and TV2 regional services.

In September YouSee made its three standard packages available to all viewers as part of its digital service.
