Russian service provider Comstar-UTS has launched IPTV services in the Moscow region, following the completion of its backbone network in the area.
The new service will be available initially to residents of a number of satellite towns around the city including Dolgoprudnyi, Mytishchi, Schelkovo, Balashikha and Krasnogorsk. Comstar, which already offers TV services in the Moscow region via other technologies, will offer a range of interactive services including video-on-demand.
