Satellite broadband for Albanian schools

OTE-owned satellite operator Hellas Sat is to provide broadband internet via satellite to 300 remote schools in Albania via its Hellas Sat 2 satellite.

Equipment is being installed by Hellas Sat and Albania’s Starsat, a subsidiary of telco Albtelecom. The project, which is being coordinated by the Albanian prime minister’s office, will see schools in towns including Argyrokastro, Tepeleni, Avlona, Dyrrachio, Korytsa, as well as at villages around the capital city Tirana, connected via satellite.
