Orange France unveils online news aggregation service

Orange France has unveiled a new version of its 2424actu news service that is now available to all web users.

Orange has signed partnerships in recent weeks with news providers Capital.fr, Jeune Afrique, L’Humanité, Métro, Rue89, Touteleurope.fr, La Tribune de Genève, Voici and 24H. The company said it would soon also be able to make France Télévisions content available on the service. 2424actu aggregates news from TV, radio and online press sources, with a business model based on increasing traffic through links to partner websites and revenue sharing agreements.

Orange said that 55% of people who had taken part in the trial of the service launched in March had opened an account on 2424actu.
