Amino demos new box for hybrid content delivery

Set-top manufacturer Amino Communications has demonstrated an IPTV box powered by Intel’s Atom Processor CE4100 (formerly known as ‘Sodaville’), the first system-on-a-chip to be based on the Intel Atom core and popular Intel architecture.

The new generation of boxes based on the chip will be designed to address the growing interest in video from multiple sources – whether broadcast, on-demand or delivered over the open internet. Amino said it was working on a range of new hybrid devices that will enable the delivery of over-the-top content as part of the TV experience.
