Teracom to build sixth DTT mux after regulatory change

Sweden’s Teracom has begun deploying the country’s sixth digital-terrestrial multiplex, meaning that new channels could be launched on the platform this year.

Investments in the sixth multiplex were frozen in October 2008 because of pricing regulatory restrictions placed on Teracom’s activities. The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency has now proposed to deregulate pay-TV elements of the terrestrial network, enabling the company, owner of the Boxer pay-TV platform, to begin investing again.
