Regulator rejects Ziggo appeal on analogue channels

Dutch cable operator Ziggo has suffered a reverse in its battle to retain the right to remove international channels TV5 Monde and TVE from its analogue packages, according to local reports.

After Ziggo ignored their requests to reinstate the channels, local programming councils covering the region served by Ziggo’s former Multikabel networks and the city of Breda appealed to media regulator the Commissariaat voor de Media, which ruled in their favour. The Commissariaat has now rejected an appeal against that ruling by Ziggo.
