TP revamps Polish DTH offer

Poland’s leading telco, France Telecom-owned TPSA, has revamped the DTH platform it offers in addition to an IPTV service.

Last year, TPSA launched a service combining its internet services with DTH TV channels delivered by pay-TV operator Canal Plus Cyfrowy. It will now offer its own DTH service alongside its broadband offering targeting customers that are unable to receive IPTV, which the telco said would be 55% of the population by 2012.

The announcement falls some way short of TPSA entering the country’s highly competitive DTH market. Dominique Lesage, TPSA’s content production director, said the satellite service would complement the IPTV offering and would not be offered as a standalone service. He added that Canal Plus would remain a business partner.
