Alcatel Lucent launches city fibre scheme

Infrastructure provider Alcatel Lucent has launched an ‘open community broadband’ programme aimed at helping city network operators implement fibre-to-the-home deployments.

As part of the programme, Alcatel Lucent is providing training, including how to build a FTTH business case, technology consulting, deployment and network management. The company is providing products and support for point-to-point fibre deployments, favoured by many city networks, as well as PON-based systems.
