Akamai unveils HD content delivery network

Content delivery network provider Akamai has unveiled the Akamai HD Network, a new video delivery network designed to deliver HD video online to users of Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight and iPhone technology.

Akamai is providing support for adaptive bit-rate streaming to ensure consistency of experience, instant response to viewer commands, an open, standards-based HD video player and HD player authentication for all three technologies.
