Virgin Media and Disney sign three-screen deal

Virgin Media has signed a deal with Disney that will see the cable operator offering content via TV, PC and mobile phones.

Virgin Media’s first ‘three screen’ content deal includes the addition of the recently launched Disney XD channel, on-demand content including HD programming, as well as rights for a range of Disney shows to be made available online and via mobile phones. Disney’s new new boy-focused channel aimed at kids aged 6-14 Disney XD recently launched on Virgin Media’s platform, joining Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney. In addition to the new channel, the deal sees an increase in on-demand content from the three Disney channels, including TV shows and movies in HD.

Virgin Media has also secured rights for all three TV channels and on-demand content to be to made available online. The deal also includes the rights for Virgin Media to offer Disney XD and on-demand content from the channel via mobile phones.
