SBB chooses Cisco for HDTV and VOD upgrade

Serbian pay-TV operator SBB has hired Cisco to provide technology to support advanced services to be launched later this year on its cable networks in Serbia and Slovenia.

SBB plans to launch HDTV from November on its Serbian and Slovenian (Telemach) networks, with video-on-demand, DVR, games and other interactive applications to follow later. Cisco will supply its Medianet IP-based infrastructure to SBB, comprising its content delivery system, PowerKey content security, and technology to support IP-based video services.
