Inmarsat adds premium video streaming service

Global mobile satellite specialist Inmarsat has launched a premium video streaming service as part of its Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service.

Inmarsat said BGAN X-Stream guarantees streaming data rates from a minimum of 384kbps to around 450kbps. It has been developed as an enhancement to the streaming service already offered via Inmarsat’s BGAN on-demand satellite-based video streaming service, which enables broadcasters to deliver media reports around the world.
