SES to provide broadband for Africa

Satellite operator SES Astra is to expand the reach of its Astra2Connect satellite-delivered broadband service to eastern and central Africa via the NSS-12 satellite through a partnership with satellite internet service provider Intersat Africa.

Intersat Africa will sell Astra2Connect in 10 countries in the region, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Somalia, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Newtec will supply satellite broadband user terminals based on its Sat3Play technology.
