Kudelski markets CI Plus CAM for Canal Plus

Swiss TV technology company Kudelski’s conditional -access module subsidiary SmarDTV has announced the availability of a CI Plus CAM for France that will enable pay-TV provider Canal Plus’s digital-terrestrial offer to be viewed without a set-top box via ‘Canal Ready’ TV sets.

The SmarCAM-3 Canal Ready module is the first SmarDTV product to implement the CI Plus specification, required by Canal Plus to protect its premium HD channels.

Separately, Kudelski has acquired Medioh!, a media technology company that aggregates ‘mid-tail’ content and provides a widget and content publishing platform for multimedia services.
