Intelsat signs Televisa capacity deal

Satellite operator Intelsat has signed a deal with Mexican broadcaster Televisa for international distribution of its pay-TV content.

Intelsat will distribute Televisa’s pay-TV programming to viewers throughout Europe via the Intelsat 905 satellite located at 335.5º East. The broadcaster will use Intelsat’s teleport in Fuchsttadt, Germany, for turnaround services of its content into Europe. Televisa has also secured additional capacity via the Intelsat 11 satellite, located at 317º East, to expand its programming bouquet with new channels for the Latin American cable TV market. The agreement also provides Televisa with extra capacity on the Galaxy 16 satellite, located at 99º West to supplement its domestic distribution.
