Unitymedia upgrades more networks

German cable operator Unitymedia has upgraded its cable network to offer triple-play services in a number of additional towns.

The cable operators, which provides services in North-Rhine Westphalia and Hesse, has completed its upgrade in the towns of Brilon and Olsberg, covering about 17,000 households, along with Lübbecke, Preußisch Oldendorf and Holzhausen, covering a further 13,000 households, as part of its regional broadband initiative to bring high-speed broadband and digital TV to rural areas.

Unitymedia said it was also upgrading its networks in Höxter, Brakel, Beverungen and Boffzen. Work in these areas, covering a further 20,500 households, will completed by September 18.
