French pay-TV provider Canal Plus boosted VivendiÂs bottom line for the first half of the year.
Canal Plus Group revenue for the first half remained broadly flat at Â2.254bn, up 0.2% year-on-year. EBITA for the first half was Â472m, up 34.5% year-on-year.
Vivendi-owned telco SFR turned in revenues of Â6.14bn, up 16.1%, with an improved market share. EBITA was Â1.296bn, down 3.3%. Vivendi itself turned in revenues of Â13.178bn, up 17%, while EBITA stood at Â2.899bn, up 12.9%.
Digital platform CanalSat added 94,000 subscribers in the year to June 30, an improvement on the 75,000 added in the year to March 31. Canal Plus ugraded 240,000 to digital services in the first half of the year. Canal Plus Poland added 290,000 in the year to June 30.Â
