French overseas territories to get DTT “within two years”

French overseas territories minister Marie-Luce Penchard has announced ambitious plans to develop digital-terrestrial television in the so-called DOM-TOMs.

In a communiqué on plans for the development of DTT in the territories, Penchard said that the most important channels would be available within two years. The launch of the first multiplex will be completed by the end of 2010, the minister said.
