Eurosport has signed a deal for Bundesliga rights and revealed plans for the launch of Eurosport 2 HD.
The sports broadcaster has signed a broadcasting rights package for coverage of the German Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 football leagues. From August 7, Eurosport 2 will broadcast five matches per week, including one on Fridays, two on Saturdays and two on Sundays in all of its markets, apart from Hungary, Romania and Albania. The channel will also feature a preview programme on Fridays and a highlights package on Sundays.
Eurosport will also launch a Eurosport 2 HD, a simulcast of the main channel, in 20 countries this month. In addition, local-language versions of Eurosport 2 will launch in Denmark, Czech Republic and Bulgarian, bringing the number of local language versions to 14.
