ESPN takes Serie A rights

ESPN has secured broadcast rights to Italy’s Serie A football league.

Under the deal, the sports broadcaster will broadcast up to three live matches each week during the 2009/2010 season, which kicks off on August 22. ESPN also has the rights to broadcast 46 English Premier League matches, 30 Scottish Premier League matches and coverage from various European football leagues during the forthcoming season.
