Akado takes Eurosport HD

Russian service provider Akado has added Eurosport HD to its programming line-up as part of its HD pack.

The addition of the channel takes the number of HD services broadcast by Akado to seven.

Separately, Eurosport said it broke audience records with its coverage of the Tour de France cycling race, which ended on Sunday. The channel recorded an average audience of 1.8 million for live coverage of the whole 21-stage race, double that for the 2008 Tour, and a record 2.8 million for the 15th stage last Sunday. Eurosport drew an overall reach of 63.3 million during its coverage of the Tour de France.
