GlobeCast signs CCTV Arabia distribution deal

Broadcast services provider GlobeCast has signed a deal to distribute Chinese broadcaster CCTV’s recently-launched Arabic channel to the Middle East and North Africa via Arabsat’s BADR-6 satellite.

GlobeCast will provide fibre backhaul and satellite distribution services for the Middle East and North Africa region, giving the channel a potential DTH reach of 200 million homes. CCTV Arabia includes news reports in Arabic with some programmes dubbed and subtitled, broadcasting to 22 Arabic-speaking countries.
