ESPN signs new rights deals

Sports broadcaster ESPN has secured the rights to a raft of new sports events for its UK channel.

After recently acquiring the rights to broadcast English Premier League, Scottish Premier League and other international football matches, ESPN has secured multiyear UK and Ireland rights to air the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the Top 14 Orange French Rugby Championship and the Australian Football League.

The broadcaster has also signed a deal to air the FIBA European Basketball Championship in September and a multiyear deal for the DTM German Touring Car series. 
All events will be available on ESPN’s standard definition and HD channels.
