Mediaset secures Serie A rights

Italy’s Mediaset has secured rights to broadcast key Serie A football games for the next three seasons.

Mediaset said its Premium service would be able to offer coverage of the matches of between eight and ten additional top Serie A teams for the 2009-12 seasons. Mediaset deputy chairman Pier Silvio Berlusconi said the deal was a victory for competition in the market.
