Netherlands-based content security specialist Civolution has acquired the software and technology solutions watermarking business of Thomson.
The deal will give Thomson a stake in Civolution, which was created as a spin-off from Philips Royal Electronics and the acquisition of Teletrax last year. Civolutions lead investor, Prime Technology Ventures, has committed to provide the necessary funding for the acquisition. Thomson meanwhile has agreed to collaborate with Civolution to develop new solutions to monetise content.Â
