CSA authorises Paris mobile TV trial

French media regulator the CSA has authorised a trial by transmission services provider TDF of DVB-H mobile broadcast transmissions this month from its Eiffel Tower transmitter in Paris.

TDF has teamed up with mobile phone provider Nokia, which is providing N96 smartphones for the trial.

TDF is transmitting about 10 channels from a DVB-H transmitter on the site, enabling it to test compare usage of DVB-H and 3G mobile services amongst consumers in the western part of the city.
