RTE confirms digital delay

Irish public broadcaster RTE has admitted that its launch of digital-terrestrial TV will be delayed, according to local press.

Ireland had planned to launch digital-terrestrial services in September, but the plan suffered a setback when the consortium contracted to develop the platform pulled out earlier this year. RTE chief executive Cathal Goan has now confirmed that the public broadcaster will not launch a service on its own before other players are ready.
