Sky Italia set for price hike

Italian satellite pay-TV service Sky Italia is set to increase the price of its basic package by 22% as a result of falling operating profits.

The News Corp-backed service is raising the price of its basic package as well as its middle offer, however, the price of its all-inclusive premium package will remain the same. The company, which has seen its operating profits fall by 35% in the first three months of the year, says that the price rise is in line with an increase in the number of channels it offers.
