SatGat resumes services with Astra

Lithuanian satellite services provider SatGate has resumed transmission from SES Astra’s 31.5° East orbital position.

SatGate is using four transponders to provide broadband and internet connectivity to ISPs and households in eastern and central Europe, Russia and neighbouring countries, and the Middle East.

SatGate also has a transponder contracted on the Sirius 4 satellite, situated at 4.8 degrees East. SatGate originally started its services from 31.5° East in August 2008 on the Astra 5A satellite which ended its mission in January 2009, to be replaced by Astra 2C in April.

SatGate was established in 2001 and has more than 50,000 active customers across different countries.
