Ziggo rejects regulator ruling on analogue channels

Dutch cable operator Ziggo has rejected a ruling by media regulator the Commissariaat voor de Media that it must accept the determination of local ‘cable councils’ that it should carry certain channels as part of its analogue offer.

Ziggo has objected to rulings that it must carry channels TV Internacional, Rai Uno and France 2 on its analogue tier in some regions. The operator has been attempting to streamline its analogue offer and make it more uniform across its network as it tries to build up its digital services.
