ORT registers in Ukraine

Russian broadcast group ORT has become the first Russian broadcaster to register with Ukraine’s media regulator, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, according to Russian reports.

ORT will represent Russia’s Channel One and related digital TV channels in Ukraine.
In April, the regulator ordered all Ukrainian cable operators to remove unregistered Russian TV channels from their packages. Some authorities, notably in Crimea, have refused to obey the ban.
