Swisscom expands IPTV offering

Swiss telco Swisscom is to expand the range of sports programmes and channels available on its Bluewin TV service.

From July 1, Bluewin subscribers will be able to view football from the English Premiere League, Spain’s La Liga, Portugal’s Liga Sagres and France’s Ligue 1 live as a pay-per-view service on Teleclub Sport. Subscribers will also be able to follow several games at the same time via split-screen coverage. Bluewin will also offer enhanced coverage of the Swiss AXPO Super League and, from September, live coverage of the country’s ice hockey National League A. Pay-per-view charges will be standardised at CHF2.50 (€1.66), including for split-screen viewing, from July 1.

Swisscom will also add eight new channels to its basic offering – Schweizer Sportfernsehen (SSF), TV5 Monde FBS, La Télé, Rai Storia, Five, E4, More 4 and Thai TV Global Network – and will launch a revised EPG with improved DVR functionality and easier access to radio stations, the company said.
