One in ten consumers download video illegally
Nearly one in ten consumers across the UK, France, Germany and the US admit to downloading video content illegally, according to research group Futuresources Living With Digital: Consumer Insights into Entertainment Consumption report.
The study found that 8% of people downloaded videos illegally. France came top, with 25% of respondents admitting to acquiring content illegally.
Across all the territories, 90% of those who watched streamed or downloaded video content online had never paid for news content or recently-missed TV shows. However, of those who had never paid, over half answered Âyes or Âmaybe when asked whether they would be willing to pay in the future.
