Multimedia Polska reduces investment but eyes acquisitions

Polish cable operator Multimedia Polska is to spend PLN40m to 50m (€9m to €11m) less on investments this year compared to last year but is interested in acquisitions, according to local media reports.

Multimedia is use its own funds for investments this year because of the difficulty in reaching agreements with banks during the economic crisis. However, it will continue to invest in extending its network to large cities as well as improving services and its billing system. President Andrzej Rogowski also said the economic crisis was forcing companies to consolidate and that Multimedia wanted to play an active role in the process.
