Viasat chooses Pace for HD set-tops

Set-top box vendor Pace has announced that Modern Times Group-owned pay-TV operator Viasat will use one of its products to launch an expanded high-definition offering.

Viasat will use Pace’s DS830NV set-top box, which supports MPEG-2 and H.264 content. The model incorporates NDS conditional access and MediaHighway middleware and comes with an Ethernet port. Roll-out of the new set-top box will commence in Scandinavia later this month.
