Video-on-demand specialist SeaChange has reported first quarter revenues of US$48.9m (34.5m), up 8% year-on-year, marking the companyÂs seventh consecutive quarter of profitability.
â¨SeaChange said the revenue increase was due primarily to higher VOD software installation, maintenance and professional services revenue along with higher software subscription revenue. Â
Revenue from the companyÂs software segment reached $30.6m, up US$0.5m year-on-year. The servers and storage segment contributed revenue of $14.1m, up 24%, and the media services segment generated US$4.2m for the quarter compared with US$4m a year earlier.Â
Seventy six per cent of revenues came from the US with 19% coming from Europe, the Middle East and Africa.Â
