Boxer acquires Finland’s PlusTV

Swedish digital-terrestrial pay-TV provider Boxer has acquired a majority stake in Finnish digital-terrestrial pay-TV operator PlusTV.

Baker Capital and IT Provider Funds will remain as minority shareholders in the service. Boxer said it aimed to develop synergies between its pay-TV activities in Sweden, Denmark and Finland and to use its combined strength to emerge as a stronger player in a more competitive market.

PlusTV, which launched in 2006, has about 280,000 subscribers and annual sales of over €50m. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
